Major train accident in Odisha's Balasore.




 As many as 288 people died and over 900 were injured in a horrific three-train accident in Odisha's Balasore
PM Narendra Modi spoke to Cabinet Secretary and Health Minister from the site.
He asked them to ensure all needed help is provided to the injured and their families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited Balasore train accident site to take the stock of the situation and met injured victims in the hospital. Modi said that those found guilty will be punished stringently. He also reviewed relief works that are underway. He was briefed by Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other officials. He also interacted with local authorities, personnel from the disaster relief forces and railways officials.

Speaking after his visit, Modi said, "It's a painful incident. Government will leave no stone unturned for the treatment of those injured. It's a serious incident. Instructions have been issued for probe from every angle. Those found guilty will be punished stringently. Railway is also working towards track restoration."
